Accessibility statement

Our commitment

Praxis is a professional tool used by trainee teachers and early career teachers — many of whom rely on assistive technology. We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 level AA across the whole product, and we treat accessibility failures as bugs, not enhancements.

What we support

• Full keyboard operation: every interactive control is reachable and operable without a mouse, and a “Skip to content” link is the first focusable element on every page.
• Screen readers: pages use landmark regions, one logical heading structure, labelled form fields, and live regions that announce the results of asynchronous actions (generation, uploads, errors).
• Focus management: navigating between pages moves focus to the new page’s main content.
• Colour and contrast: text and interactive elements meet AA contrast ratios, and no information is conveyed by colour alone — status is always paired with a text label.
• Voice features are optional everywhere: live transcription and dictation always sit alongside an equivalent typed workflow, never replace it.
• Zoom and reflow: the interface remains usable at 200% browser zoom.

Known limitations

• Live transcription depends on your browser’s speech recognition (Chrome, Edge and Safari support it; Firefox does not). The typed alternative is always available.
• Previews of uploaded PowerPoint files use Microsoft’s embedded Office viewer, whose accessibility we don’t control; the original file can always be downloaded and opened in your own software.
• Charts on the analytics page include text summaries, but the charts themselves are visual; we are extending the underlying data tables.

If any part of Praxis is difficult or impossible for you to use, email accessibility@praxisapp.co.uk describing the page and the assistive technology you were using. Accessibility reports are triaged ahead of feature work.
