Terms of use

Last reviewed: October 2026
Praxis is in beta and run by one person. It is free to start; the Praxis Pass (£69 for the training year) is paid once billing is live. Before it takes payment it will move to a company and these terms will be reviewed by a solicitor. We will tell you before anything here changes.

1Who these terms are with

Praxis is provided by Cole Poppleton, an individual based in England (“we”, “us”), contactable at hello@praxistool.online. By creating an account you agree to these terms. If you are agreeing on behalf of a school, university or other organisation, you confirm you are authorised to do so.

2What Praxis is

Praxis helps you plan teaching, track coverage of a syllabus, and build a record of your practice against the Teachers’ Standards. It includes AI features that generate material from what you have already written.

Praxis is not a management information system, a safeguarding system, or a system of record for anything about pupils. Do not use it as one.

3Who can use it

You must be 18 or over and using Praxis in a professional or training capacity. One account is for one person: sign-in details are not to be shared. You are responsible for what happens under your account, so keep access to your email secure.

4Your content stays yours

Everything you write or upload remains yours. You give us only the permission needed to run the service for you, storing it, displaying it back to you, sending it to the providers listed in our privacy notice to produce a result you asked for, and sharing it with people you explicitly invite.

We do not use your content to train AI models, and we do not publish it or show it to other users except through a share or invitation you created.

5AI features, and your professional judgement

Generated material is a draft, not advice. AI output can be wrong, out of date, or subtly unsuitable for your class. You are the professional: you remain responsible for what you teach, what you submit as evidence, and what you put in front of pupils. Check it before you use it.

Praxis does not guarantee that following its suggestions will result in passing any qualification, meeting any standard, or satisfying any assessor. The frameworks it references are published by third parties and may change.

Free includes a one-time pool of generation units; a paid Praxis Pass includes a monthly allowance. We may apply fair-use limits to protect the service, and will tell you in the product when you are near a limit rather than cutting you off silently.

6What we ask you not to do

  • Store pupil records, safeguarding disclosures, or identifying detail about children.
  • Upload anything you do not have the right to upload, including copyright material belonging to someone else.
  • Attempt to break, overload or probe the service, or access another user’s data.
  • Resell or redistribute Praxis, or use it to build a competing product.

7Mentors, reviews and shared records

When you invite a mentor or observer, you are choosing to share that specific record with them. They see what you shared and nothing else. You can revoke access at any time; comments they already wrote remain part of your record, because they are evidence of your practice being observed.

If a collaborator later deletes their account, their feedback stays on your record with their identity removed. This is explained in the privacy notice.

8Plans and payment

Praxis is free to start. Planning, your record, your weekly reviews and inviting your first mentor on each placement are free. The Praxis Pass, £69 for the training year, adds your provider’s forms ready to print, the printable tracker, readiness, further mentors and Notion links. Billing is not yet live: nothing is charged automatically. Requesting the Pass records your interest and we contact you to arrange it.

Every account has the Pass free as a trial until two weeks after its formative placement ends (at least 30 days from sign-up). That date is set once and shown in Settings. When the trial ends, the Pass features stop, but everything you wrote stays readable, editable and downloadable, and anything dated inside the trial stays printable. When billing does go live we will publish payment terms, including renewal, cancellation and refunds, and will not start charging an existing account without telling you first.

9Availability

We aim to keep Praxis running and to warn you before planned downtime, but we do not offer a service level guarantee on the free tier or during the current beta period. Features may change; where a change removes something you rely on, we will give notice and an export path.

10Ending it

You can stop using Praxis and delete your account at any time from your account page. Export your data first: deletion is real and we cannot bring it back.

We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, or that puts other users or the service at risk. Except where the law or a serious breach prevents it, we will give you notice and a chance to export your data.

11Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law.

Subject to that: Praxis is provided as-is; we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, or loss arising from your reliance on generated material; and our total liability in any twelve-month period is limited to the amount you paid us in that period. If you are a consumer, this does not affect your statutory rights.

12Changes to these terms

We will post any change here and update the review date. If a change materially affects your rights we will tell you in the product or by email before it takes effect.

13Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction. Questions: hello@praxistool.online.
